How do we reduce costs and increase value, improve patients’ experiences and outcomes, apply and integrate new technologies into clinical practice, and create greater access to quality healthcare? These goals require us to focus on both quality and innovation at the same time, but can we have both?
Quality involves adherence to standards, application of best practices and the elimination of errors. Innovation on the other hand requires creativity. It demands a willingness to try new ideas and to experiment with out of the box thinking. It requires resources devoted to projects that have not been tested and may or may not succeed.
Telehealth technologies offer the promise of improving what we are currently doing, but also opens the door for finding new and better ways to do it. What does continuous quality and process improvement look like in telehealth?
How can we be successful combining innovation with quality improvement? How do we manage new ideas, effectively test them, develop processes to evaluate them and establish mechanisms for continuous quality monitoring?
Join us at the 2017 MATRC Telehealth Summit where we will take a closer look at these questions and more in the areas of behavioral health, population health, specialty and subspecialty care and telehealth technology.
